Behavioral Services
All our behavior services are rooted in the principals of ABA, with the goal of helping parents and families increase a child's ability to cope and engage in prosocial behaviors. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) as a theory of behavior management involves the utilization of behavioral techniques and applies them to daily situations with the aim of decreasing some and increasing other behaviors. ABA as a theory of human behavior is the basis of many parenting, teaching, classroom management, and self-regulation techniques.
Often associated with Autism, research now indicates that ABA services are appropriate for individuals with a wide variety of developmental disabilities, skill levels, and ages. In fact, research suggests that for individuals with Autism and other developmental disabilities, ABA can be quite helpful across the lifespan and across skill levels. Despite ABA often being known locally just as discrete trial training, the approach is much more varied and can be helpful to more than just the most significantly impacted individuals.

ABA The process of ABA therapy can vary between individuals and practitioners; however, the basic tenet of the approach is to break down skills into teachable parts and teach and reinforce skills in specific domains of functioning. These domains can include social skills, communication, motor dexterity, hygiene and grooming, and many other self-care, vocational and independent skills. Tailored to each individual’s needs, ABA can be delivered in a variety of settings including school, clinics, home, the community, and virtually.

FBA & BIPFunctional Behavior Assessment (FBA) is a process which focuses on gathering relevant data and information to determine the function of a behavior within a given environment, such as home, school, or in the community. FBAs can be done as part of a larger ABA program or can be done as a stand-alone service to identify target behaviors.
After an FBA is completed, the data collected can be used to generate a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) that incorporates strategies that are designed to increase positive behaviors and reduce behaviors that interrupt daily living, learning, and other adaptive functioning. SOCIAL SKILLSSocial skills groups are designed to help educate children in the skills they need to be more socially successful with peers. Our groups provide a safe social environment to learn about and practice social skills with other children. Social skills groups are organized according to age, cognitive, language, and current social skill level. Currently, groups are offered both in person in our office and virtually.
